Impact so far

Everything below is reconciled monthly against invoices from our partner shelters. If a number here disagrees with a shelter’s public report, please tell us — we would rather correct the record than keep a friendly-looking figure up.

How to read the homepage counter

The live counter you see on the homepage represents cumulative funded meals — that is, one meal per US$0.18 of food actually invoiced and delivered to a partner shelter. It is not a projection based on ad impressions. When the number moves, that money is already committed against a specific shelter’s next delivery.

Our current partners

We work with a deliberately small number of independent shelters in the U.S. and Canada. Keeping the partner list small lets us reconcile every delivery personally, verify photos, and answer questions in a single email thread rather than a support queue. We open the partner list to new shelters as sustainable monthly revenue allows.

If you run or volunteer at a shelter that would benefit from recurring bulk-food deliveries, please email partners@feedpups.com with your monthly intake numbers and the kibble brand you currently feed.

Where the money goes, by category

  • Kibble delivered to partner shelters — the overwhelming majority of every dollar received.
  • Payment processing fees — flat percentage kept by Stripe and Google on each transaction; we do not mark this up.
  • Infrastructure — domain, hosting, and email. Currently about US$47/month total, capped at 5% of monthly revenue by policy.
  • Nothing else. No salaries, no offices, no paid marketing, no equity investors.

Monthly reporting

Every month we publish a short recap on the blog: revenue in, kibble out, any operational changes, and a running total against our disclosed cost figures. Journalists and prospective partners can request redacted invoice copies by emailing hello@feedpups.com.

What counts as one meal

One meal on the counter equals US$0.18 of delivered dry kibble at our current wholesale contract price. That number changes when supplier pricing changes and we update the constant here on the site the same day. This is deliberately conservative — a small dog eats less than one "meal" per day at that price, a large dog eats a little more — but averaged across a shelter population it lines up almost exactly with per-dog daily food cost.

Questions we get about impact

Is FeedPups a registered charity? Not yet — we are structured as a mission-locked LLC. See our funding explainer for detail.

Can I get a tax receipt? Not currently. If tax deductibility matters, donate directly to a local shelter.

Can I see actual invoices? Monthly totals go public. Per-shelter invoices we share redacted on request.
