Frequently asked questions
If your question isn’t here, email hello@feedpups.com.
Is FeedPups free to play?
Yes. The game is completely free. Ad revenue and optional credit packs cover everything, including the food we send to partner shelters.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play and fund meals without signing in. If you create an account, your credits and lifetime meal count are attached to your profile across devices.
How does feeding a virtual dog turn into food for a real dog?
Playing the game causes ad impressions on the site. Those, plus optional credit-pack purchases, pool into a monthly balance that we spend on bulk kibble delivered directly to partner shelters. See the funding explainer on our blog for the full flow.
Where does the money go?
Overwhelmingly to kibble. The rest covers payment-processing fees and about US$47/month of infrastructure (domain, hosting, email). There are no salaries, offices, or paid marketing. Infrastructure is capped at 5% of monthly revenue by policy.
Which shelters do you support?
A small number of independent shelters in the U.S. and Canada. We keep the list deliberately small so we can reconcile every delivery personally. New shelters can apply by emailing partners@feedpups.com.
How many meals does US$1 buy?
At the current wholesale price we pay, one dollar funds roughly 5 to 6 meals — one meal is defined as US$0.18 of delivered dry kibble. That number moves when supplier pricing moves and we update it publicly the same day.
Do you take donations without playing?
Yes. Any credit-pack purchase is effectively a donation — it converts to meals at a slightly higher rate than ad revenue because there is no advertiser in the middle taking a margin. You do not have to spend the credits in-game if you do not want to.
Is FeedPups a registered charity? Can I get a tax receipt?
Not currently. FeedPups is a mission-locked LLC with a public commitment to distribute revenue as food. If tax deductibility matters to you, please consider donating directly to a local shelter instead.
Are the dogs in the game real?
The pixel-art breeds in the pack are based on real rescue breed profiles, but they do not depict specific dogs. Shelter partners occasionally send us adoption photos we share on the blog with permission.
Can I share the site with friends?
Please do. Every new player expands the audience the ad revenue is based on, which directly grows the monthly food budget. There is a share button on the homepage, and the URL is feedpups.com.
How do I contact you?
